Buddhist Psychology

I completed my postgraduate training in Buddhist Psychology through the Upaya Institute. The training is an extension of the the Contemplative Psychology program at Naropa University. I apply this lens throughout my work. This includes viewing my clients with basic goodness and inherent wisdom.

So…what does that mean?

Our work together will include getting to know the core part of yourself that is good and worthy of love and compassion, and learning that you already have the wisdom within you where you want to go. I find that honing your goodness and your wisdom is so helpful for clients that are feeling lost, disconnected and blocked. We also view emotions as information, and we relate to them mindfully, without falling into overwhelm, to learn what we need to know about our current experience. I utilize tools like mindful awareness, meditation, and differentiating story from core feeling to work with overwhelming emotions.

You don’t need to be Buddhist, or even know anything about Buddhism to work with me. Just bring an open mind and a willingness to be curious about exploring yourself with a new lens.
